EXTENSION AND INTERIOR REMODELLING - GREATSTONE, KENT

Studio four point ten were appointed as architects to design this house retrofit and extension project in Greatstone, Kent. This project replaced existing extensions and conservatories with a single large two story extension, together with extensive interior refurbishment works and a loft conversion to revitalise this property into a modern beach house adjacent to the sand dunes at Greatstone. New front and rear dormers provide additional loft space to create a new master suite with fantastic views.

The metal clad rear two storey extension creates an open plan living, kitchen and dining space at ground floor, with an additional large entertaining space at first floor with a balcony and views over the dunes to the beach and sea beyond.

The rear extension has been designed with integrated solar shading and privacy screening, to reduce solar gains and overlooking, whilst avoiding the aesthetic of “planted on” additions, which ultimately creates more cohesive look.

Planning permission was granted by Folkestone & Hythe District Council and now complete this project perfectly compliments our growing portfolio or beach side properties in the Kent and East Sussex area.
