Meet the team.
Lee and Marc met during their Masters in Architecture at the University of Bath. It was here whilst sharing a design studio (studio 4.10) that they set upon creating a practice that combined their passion for craftsmanship in construction with a concept-driven design approach to create more meaningful buildings.
Lee Holcombe
Architect, BSc (Hons), MArch, ARB, RIBA
Lee is our Bath based partner who graduated the University of Bath with a first class Masters in Architecture.
Lee takes a keen interest in the creative re-use of historic sites and buildings as well as having a long standing passion for craft and making, being an accomplished woodworker and metalworker before becoming an Architect. His work includes designing and making furniture as well as machining of bespoke metalwork components, ironmongery and fixtures - many of which are developed especially for the buildings we design and build for our clients.
Previous to Four Point Ten, Lee worked for Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios and has acquired over 15 years of experience working with significant historic structures, archaeological sites and listed buildings; ranging from scheduled ancient monuments, to castles and internationally renowned cultural buildings.
In recent years this has included works to develop a new Clore Learning Centre and museum experience at the Roman Baths. Prior to this he led the redevelopment of the ‘New Place’ site in Stratford-upon-Avon, a project to reimagine the site of William Shakespeare’s former residence and gardens.
Marc Wright
Architect, BA(Hons), MArch, ARB, RIBA
Marc is our Kent based partner who graduated the University of Bath with a first class Masters in Architecture. Marc is currently the Secretary of the RIBA West Kent Branch.
Much of Marc’s experience has been around high end residential work and conservation projects within London. Previous to Four Point Ten, Marc worked for Prewett Bizley Architects and MBH Architects in London. Here he acquired over 10 years experience working on conservation projects for private residential to larger commercial buildings, such as leading on several different listed London theatres ranging from facade repair to the design of new interiors.
Marc is trained in low energy retrofit projects and has experience with Passivhaus design. Marc is passionate about reducing the impact of our buildings on the built environment and driven towards creating beautiful structures with a light touch approach to material use. Favouring thoughtful design and an efficient fabric-first sensibility to construction detailing, he fuses experience with building technologies with a passion for craftsmanship and Passivhaus design principles.
When he’s not detailing buildings, Marc loves to get outdoors on long hikes and is a keen and nimble rock climber!
Christian Nuqui
Part I Architectural Assistant
Christian is based at our Kent/East Sussex office and recently graduated from Loughborough University. Christian finds joy in collaborating with others and brings a people-centred energy to his work, shaped by experiences that range from micro-mentoring prospective architecture students to co-designing a classroom with primary school pupils.
For his final student project, Christian proposed a civic sanctuary in central Cologne, Germany; a scheme that encouraged community connection through shared acts of making and eating. The design included a skills-development programme for local and migrant communities, celebrating everyday craft as a means of strengthening social ties and rediscovering creative identity.
