HOUSE EXTENSION - TUNBRIDGE WELLS, KENT

Our client purchased their house with planning permission to build a large extension to the rear, however, the plans were uninspiring and fell into the trap of adding square metres without proper consideration of how this was integrated with the existing house and layout.

We were appointed to undertake a feasibility study to find a better way of using the space and to simplify the awkward roof form previously designed. We then successfully applied for and obtained planning permission for the scheme.

Our proposal created a large open plan space that spanned the rear of the existing property. It took advantage of the sloping site by introducing a split level to help differentiate the sitting area, which not only provided additional ceiling height and enhanced natural light, but a cosier feel through the experience of stepping down to the area.

The project is currently under construction.
